Company History
Indigo was founded in 2006 by Randy Julian and incubated by the Ventures Group of Eli Lilly until it graduated as an independent company in 2008. Its first products were aimed at improving regulated data management for drug development groups in the pharmaceutical industry. Through leadership in data standardization and innovation in statistical analysis of instrument data, Indigo produced its breakthrough product ASCENT in 2011.
Since its launch, the largest clinical research laboratories in the world have adopted ASCENT, improving results and lowering costs through automation. In 2012, Indigo announced its cloud-based version of ASCENT, further extending the application of its powerful tools to all healthcare and life science laboratories. Also in 2012, Indigo announced major alliances with instrument companies pushing ASCENT closer to becoming the gold standard for chromatographic quantitation and automated review.
The success of ASCENT as a data review tool led developers at Indigo to reconsider the possibilities of the data being collected. As a result, Compass, our comprehensive lab management dashboard tool, was conceived to improve efficiency, increase quality, and deliver valuable business insights.
