INDIANAPOLIS, January 30, 2014 —Indigo BioSystems’s President and Founder, Dr. Randall K. Julian has been selected as a finalist for The IBJ’s 2014 Heath Care Heroes award. Dr. Julian is an honoree for the Advancements in Health Care category. For years, Dr. Julian worked for Eli Lilly, spinning out his research group from Lilly into the company that is now Indigo Biosystems.

“It has always been my goal to maximize the impact of computing technologies in the life sciences, especially in the analysis of the complex data that is driving drug discovery and disease diagnosis. With team at Indigo, I am realizing that goal. Indigo is filled with really smart, hardworking people who deliver amazing solutions to very difficult problems in disease diagnosis and healthcare. It is incredible to be part of team team that is focused and excited about solving these problems. It is possible because we are in Indiana where we have partners like IEDC, Lilly, Purdue, IU and Rose-Hulman” says Dr. Randall Julian. “To be nominated for this award is an honor, to be referred to as a hero is a shock; I am just doing what I love to do.”

Dr. Julian, and all of the IBJ Health Care Heroes finalists, will be honored and awarded at a breakfast on March 6th.
