ASCENT has been a huge time-saving tool for us. The best part is that we don’t waste time reviewing analytically sound data. Instead, we can focus more on the troublesome samples and peaks.

Not Data Review. Releview.

When you think about data review for chromatographic analytical data, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Peaks – lots and lots of peaks. It is not uncommon to sift through literally thousands of chromatogram plots, each and every day. Why have you been having to manually wade through all these results? Why can’t you just see what’s relevant to getting the batch reviewed, certified and reported?

Reduce the time and effort of reviewing and increase your confidence in the final report.

The reason you’ve been looking at all of those peaks is because, in some way, you can’t be sure that the peaks which the data system are presenting are, in fact, reflective of the true signal. If you can’t trust the peaks, you can’t trust the values derived from the peaks (such as calculated concentrations). Data systems have had to include ways with which to visualize this mass of peak results – and all of the calculated values.

ASCENT changes this in a way that reduces the time and effort necessary to perform review while providing even more confidence about the quality of your results. The concept is called Releview: the idea that an enormous acceleration of the normal data review process is possible by focusing on what’s relevant at exactly your step of the review process. Starting with ASCENT’s peak processor itself and building on the customized quality rule system, Indigo has reimagined the manner in which review can be done. Rather than starting with the notion that every single peak has to be reviewed, ASCENT begins with the notion that only those results which represent an exception of some type truly need to be manually reviewed. Reviewing those exceptions is done from a different viewpoint by different users – each of them searching for what is relevant to their own perspective.

Driven by your quality rules to help you more accurately assess peaks.

Exceptions can be actionable or informative, and are driven by a set of quality rules which are defined by you and automatically run by the system. ASCENT’s peak processor, as powerful as it is, may still run into instances where manual inspection is required. ASCENT notifies you of those peaks which should be reviewed, and presents them with a set of peak-focused flags. Once the peaks have been reviewed, other areas of the result set can also be considered: how does the calibration look, how are the QC samples performing, is there any indication of contamination, are any sample concentrations outside of certain ranges?

Using both automation and human review to help your team make more informed decisions.

ASCENT’s batch review pages allow you to select specific categories of quality rules and exceptions, prioritizing and visualizing the results which correspond to your needs. Releview combines the computing power of automation with the human power of exception based review, to deliver certified results as fast as possible. This is a fundamentally better way to work through the wide array of data and values which make up the results. Treating these processes as a team of the reviewer and ASCENT working together provides a more holistic view of the workflow, resulting in the team being able to make more informed decisions in less time.
